People often wonder what sky lanterns, wish lanterns, or Wedding Lanterns are actually for. When, other than weddings can you use them, and why? Well this is very unimaginative thinking. You can launch a wish lantern at almost any occassion, or even just after dinner instead of having a night cap, hop out into the street and let a lantern go whilst you contemplate life. Lanterns make a lovely end to any dinner party. They seem to relax and subdue people. It is quite extraordinary to watch a bunch of raucous people be utterly calmed at the sight of a lantern in the sky.

I had called our agent and asked him what effect my daughter’s accident was going to have on our insurance rates. He told me they should not have much of an impact and that the company would let me know if it did. Well three months later I got a bill for a substantial increase in our rates and I got it without an explaination from either the company or my agent. The collapse of the subprime home mortgage lending industry, combined with continued falling home prices and the tightening of credit has caused many changes for qualification requirements and interest rate offerings by refinancing lenders. Initially, there was a bump up across the board regarding credit score ratings and their impact on the refinance programs being offered to qualified home loan borrowers.
Unfortunately, for those refinancing now, those credit score requirements continue to creep up the ladder. What’s more is that the credit score bands also appear to be tightening. This means that your credit score is more important than ever for home mortgage refinancing rate qualification. The industry is in a scramble right now, and credit score requirement changes are just a reflection of a housing market and economy in turmoil.

By grouping dome skylights you can really enhance a room, whether it is a home or a commercial building. I really like some of the interestingly shaped skylights that I have seen installed in various buildings. Some have been round domes, some triangular and some square. I have seen them dotted over a roof to great effect. I have also seen one big one over a hallway and it was spectacular. They all have one thing in common, they make the room below appear much bigger and roomier. They allow in so much natural daylight that electrical lighting is not required during the day.
