When peoples web habits have been studied, it was found that after reading email, people then read news on the web. What does this mean to you, the small business marketer? It means you want to get into email boxes of your clients or potential clients. When surveyed, web respondents claimed that they feel more of an attraction to personalized news and emails. See this as a benefit to your marketing arsenal. This way, the client feels in control of what they are getting in their inbox, as well they should. We need to give the consumer more credit for knowing what they want, when they want it and who they want it from. The idea is to get them to want what you’ve got. When a consumer feels in control of what they see, they have a more positive perspective on what they are viewing. Don’t you want your client or potential client to see your product or service in a positive light? That’s your job: to find a way to market that puts the consumer in control. We are all Type A’s at heart!

Last year I went to lunch with some old buddies of mine from childhood, and we talked about how our careers were going. Several of them hadn’t found their way in life yet and they were feeling discouraged about what career path to go with. I told them about the job I have, and that they could enjoy the same level of success if they attended web design schools. They all liked to use computers, so it was an obvious choice for them. I was able to offer them advice as they went through school, and now they have great careers to look forward to.

There is one difficulty with straight-backed chairs for back pain relief – namely, it isn’t always possible to use them. For example, a straight-backed chair would be impractical to use at a desk, especially if you have to move back and forth between your desk and your typewriter or computer, turn to talk to people, or rummage through files.
For working at a desk, you might want a rolling office chair with a built-in lumbar support. Scores of different brands and models, ranging in price from modest to extremely expensive, are available at office furniture and department stores, and over the Internet.
