At Christmas time everyone seems to come together, maybe it’s the weather or just the “spirit of Christmas”, none the less, we see more of each other than most of the year. So when the holidays are in full swing, with all the cultural diversity America has it is amazing to see what everyone brings to the table. I had special Hawaii pineapple desert that they share during the holiday and panettone from Italy; so next christmas I’m going to ask santa to send me two incentive travel vouchers so I can try out some holidays where my traditions are foreign.

There was this man who only smoked a cigar once a year to crown special occasions and he went ahead and told his doctor just that. His thinking was that since he just smoked about just once a year and made this known to the doctor, this would NOT have any negative effect on his life insurance rate.
The rates he was given showed that his insurance carrier had a different opinion of his once-in-a-while smoking. He got a rate that was over two times more than that for non-smokers
He could have just settled with the rate given to him just like some people do. He wouldn’t settle for that on his part since he reasoned that smoking only once annually didn’t make as bad a risk as those who smoke two packs everyday
He wrote explaining to the insurance provider and therefore requested that the give him a non-smoker’s rate. In summary, he eventually had his rate lowered by up to 50% after weeks of bargaining
There’re lots of life insurance companies out there and they’re all competiting for your business For folks who have a good case, use this to your advantage. Every insurance carrier would gladly offer you more affordable premiums if that will enable them do business with you but still reflect the risk they bear by insuring you

In the run up to Christmas there will be people doing their last minute shopping. They should considerpersonalised number plates before spending hours trailing around stores seeking inspiration. I don’t know if you know this, but every so many years, doctors who teach at medical colleges have to publish a book. Most of them take some time off to do it, but not all of them. I became assistant to a doctor this year and the job he gave me…? Putting in the citations in his book. That’s not unusual – he’s incredibly busy with his students and his work at the clinic. And the hard work, his writing, is already done. Lucky for me, I learned how to use an APA machine in another class. That makes making citations and bibliographies so much easier. I just know his book is going to do well, too.

Last week I met my coworker Greg for the first time. Greg has been working for our company for about a month now, but I didn’t get to meet him till last week. Greg was telling me that he moved here from Florida, and he is married, and has 2 kids. He also told me that he plays guitar, and gives lessons on the side. I’ve been interested in beginner electric guitar for awhile now, I think I might take him up on some of his lessons. I would love to be able to play the Blues, and some Rock and Roll.
