Steven: I agree with you but the flip side is that with more sources of taxation makes it easier for politician to raise it on this one, because you don’t pay corporate tax, only the WEALTHY pay that tax. What happned to the separation of church and state? There is such violation of the constitution.
Richard Gere turned Budhist and visits Dalai Lama in India may be twice a year. Nobody questions his religion and if anything is in awe. If he were running for the President nobody will ask if he is a Christian. Instead the question would be how can you convert more of the country to Budhism.
Bill Clinton was a supposed Christian who made mockery of Christianity in the White House and in Arkansas as the governer with his affairs. Nobody questioned his faith. JFK was no different.
With 60% some divorce rates, broken homes, faith in name only Christians all over the country how does it matter how much of a Christian either Nikki or Jindal are. They sure have shown better family values than Bubba Clinton or Kennedy.

Living in the north east of the United States I am faced dealing with the different weather of the seasons. The one that I do not mind is the snow. Snow is such a wonderful thing to look out the window too. To have snow you need to have chilly temperatures which are the most perfect temperature to heat up hot chocolate, watch movies, and sit in front of solaira heaters wrapped up in a blanket. It is just so relaxing for everyone especially me as long as you do not have to be in the snow especially drive in the snow.

Democrats proclaim this land was built by immigrants – sounds nice but they are bundling those immigrants that wanted to be part of the U.S. , and work hard to get ahead with those that have no plan to be citizens advice scotland, and are only too happy to sponge off legal citizens and all that the U.S. offers. My father immigrated here to be part of the American dream, he worked hard, and became a success. He joined the army and fought for this country. Why not offer illegals the opportunity to fight for the U.S., in exchange for being citizens ?

There is a great deal of truth to what Ms. Chua has said. Without a doubt, most western parents are incompetent and have substituted ridalin and video games for good parenting quotes, tips, and advice and corporal punishment. This problem is exacerbated by the fact that the westerners who are actually having many children are the ones who shouldn’t be having that many. We have created a society of shirked responsibility and most westerners blame their failures on others or on society itself. It is saddening.
However, her approach to parenting was nothing short of barbaric. Pretty much, cultural stereotypes included, a typical example of a hyper controlling, jealous, vindictive, mean and culturally arrogant Asian mother. Her essay reeks of arrogance and condescension and makes sense given the lack of individualism and freedom her home culture continues to embrace.
Western parents should take back responsibility for child rearing. Western parents should not be having children if they cannot properly tend to their needs and be a responsible parent. That is about it. Ms. Chua can take her essay and her parenting style and export them back to China.
