As a young driver, high insurance is the last thing you want. You obviously expect to pay a higher premium than say someone with ten years experience however you do not expect to pay the through the roof prices which insurance companies will offer you. Unfortunately, getting cheap insurance for young drivers is virtually impossible. The next best thing is finding ways to chip at the premiums so you are getting the cheapest insurance possible. There are various ways which you can do this which will be discussed below. One way is to pay a higher excess. Most drivers opt for low excesses so if they are unfortunate they have less to pay out, meaning the insurers pay more. The higher the excess, the less is covered by the insurers so they will offer you a lower premium.
