Are Websites such as Paypal and Liberty Reserve Safe?

I buy a lot of items online. My concern is the safety of my credit card link. I have used Paypal and Liberty Reserve for the longest time in my E-Commerce business as well as personal use. I can always see that once you enter your profile with these websites they will lock it and make sure that you have the right security. If you try to check on the card you have linked with your account it only shows the last 4 digits of the card and encrypts the rest of the. I have confidence that my accounts are safe with these programs I am using. I have not experienced something bad with Paypal orLiberty Reserve.
