Considering Solar Electric Panels

So with the rates of electricity these days skyrocketing, I am not quite sure how much longer I can afford to pay them. I even consider myself one of the lucky ones these days as to not have a lot of credit card debt and I have a good solid paycheck. I can not imagine how people are doing it otherwise. So recently I thought that I should look into solar electric panels as an alternative. How long would it take me to recover the costs on getting these installed? How long before I could reach the break even point and then start saving money?
