What Happens If You Don’t Accept Credit Cards?

October 15th, 2009

I have been to businesses in recent years that did not accept credit cards. They were usually small businesses such as dry cleaners or hair salon’s. While I didn’t have a problem with the fact that they didn’t accept credit cards, I could see how it would affect their business.

The main point of credit cards is the simplicity and ease of using them. It is a way to borrow money, but people also like how simple it is. In most cases, you must swipe your card and sign a credit card terminal screen or a receipt. You can use them at restaurants, fast food joints, supermarkets, department stores, boutiques, etc. Even if it just cuts a few minutes from your day, it still easier than finding cash. Also, some people do rely on the money they have on their credit card because they don’t have the cash to pay.

If you have a business and you are thinking of credit cards and leaning towards not accepting them, think again. Today, it is easier than ever to set up your business to accept credit cards. Whether you have an online business or not, you can get set up fast and start accepting credit card payments right away.
