Not just Giving It Away

When my husband and I got our financial award letter, there were far much more student loans in the list than grants. Which was to be expected, but still leaves us in an off putting spot. We are moving out of state to follow his studies, and this indicates that jobs will also have to be place on hold as he studies. But if we accept all the money we must survive without work throughout this time, then the next ten or twenty years of his future job income could go directly and almost merely into repaying back those heavy burdens. We want to be responsible, but there really just doesn’t seem to be another alternative. Do we give up on his job objectives, or do we let him do the job he wants, but as a near indentured servant for years to come? It really is a choice that should not be placed on so many of us in our country, but is daily.
