Laying horses?

I’ve always wondered what the term laying meant in betting terms and now I have found out. It seems that you can make money laying horses, or betting on a horse to lose. Sound like easy money to me, but as with most things it’s not quite as easy as it seems. The problem is the odds available on the horse you want to lay. As you are basically acting as the bookie if the horse actually wins you have to pay out and if the odds are against you, that could be quite a lot of money. There are systems out there that might be worth looking at if you are interested in laying horses.
