Dry socket treatment
August 13th, 2010
A dry socket is an extremely painful condition of the socket after a tooth extraction. Here are some simple measures to bring relief to this condition.Contact the doctor immediately if you have extreme pain during the healing period of tooth extraction. Typically the doctor will• Rinse the mouth with an anti bacterial mouthwash.• Apply dressing on the area. This can be a bit painful as the dressing is done without any anesthesia. This dressing can continue for a few days till the area heals.• May prescribe painkillers to decrease the pain. Whatever type of treatment is prescribed for dry socket it takes some time for the socket to heal. So don’t expect quick results.
