Physician recruitment means community effort

April 30th, 2010

The United States had long acknowledged the fact that it lacks manpower in the healthcare sector especially in its rural areas. These rural areas have been touted as medically marginalized communities, according to a recent federal document. This has developed a point-rating system for each community, which includes categories such as the population percentage on lowest poverty bracket, percentage of individuals beyond the age of 65, rate of newborn deaths, and lastly, the fraction of primary care doctors against every thousand of the citizens. Read this site if you want medical jobs in information. Primary care physicians are defined as those practicing internal medicine, obstetrics gynecology, family practice, or pediatrics. After this has been determined, the medical staff and board members must agree on what forms of medical services will be prioritized. At present, some hospitals are making the recruitment of additional physicians in obstetrics gynecology top priority. Additional physicians in the family medicine and emergency room practices are also needed.
