Whey Protein Shakes

September 12th, 2010

When I first started using protein shakes I began to notice a big increase in my energy.  That’s how I really knew it made a difference.  From there I started researching all of the different proteins that are out there. I was on a diet and I was determined to succeed. I think my real big hurdle was that I was trying to watch how much I was eating on my weight loss plan instead of really paying attention to how many vital nutrients I was missing out on.  After doing some big time reading I learned that Whey Protein is a great way to go.  It provides the body with lots of really quick fast energy that is stimulant free.  It’s protein.  I had tried some of those meal replacement shakes just to see if maybe they gave me what I was looking for.   But they didn’t.  I didn’t need a meal replacement. What I needed was a workout aid.  There had to be something out there for me that was going to give me what I was looking for.  Come to find out, Whey Protein is loaded in what are called branched chain amino acids. BCAA for short.  These amino acids are awesome at helping our body function.  They act like little wrenches to help tighten all the gears in how your muscle’s process protein.  Basically, they are a great plus.  I could feel the difference too.  I know there are lots of different BCAA like L-Isoleucine, L-Valine, and really popular, L-Leucine.  These chemical names don’t really mean much to me but I know that they are doing a killer job of keeping me energized.  Whenever I’m looking over all the different protein shakes out there I always reach for one with Whey Protein as the main ingredient.
