The track and field decison Cassi had to make
October 22nd, 2009
This past year has been a whirlwind of activity for my daughter and myself. Last year my wife and I got divorced and I got sole custody of our daughter Cassi. This was completely fine with me as I love my daughter very much. This year my daughter has started her freshman year in high school and had a few decisions to make.
My daughter is very good at playing basketball; however she is very fast and she was looking at getting into track and field as well. She ended up getting into track and she is very glad that she did.
She attended a distance running camp this summer and got to interact with girls like Liz Jackson who ran for BYU in college and then professionally for Nike and some other famous distance runners. We sent her to a basketball camp too, so that she could try to decide which sport she liked better. Since she’s chosen track, she’s just had so much fun and has gotten to make some great friendships. Track girls seem to be pretty sharp girls.
I’m happy knowing that she is involved in a great sport surrounded by good people.
