I Wanted Something That Would Last

October 1st, 2009

When I was building my house, I was on a very tight budget. As a result, I found myself scrimping in a lot of areas. I bought laminate instead of hardwood for the floors, purchased a smaller fridge than I would have liked, and got a cheaper dishwasher. But there was one area where I refused to cut costs, and that was with the window coverings. I insisted on real wood venetian blinds. I had learned my lesson about cheap blinds from the last house I built. They cracked within the first few months, and pieces of them broke off. I decided that if I was going to cover my windows at all, I wanted something that would last.
