Living in a few Chicago apartments to save money

My wife and I have been married for almost two years and we do a lot of saving. We do not want to be one of those families that is always struggling to get by. We have been saving money by living in Chicago apartments to save money for a house that we can afford. Both of our jobs are in the city so we do not want to live to far. So any house that we may buy will be really close to the city. Meaning that they are going to be very expensive. When we have enough money, we will have a great house.
