The Coffee Maker Mystery

Never in my coffee drinking life have I seen coffee dripping on the mouth of my carafe. The starbucks coffee maker I have had for a year is providing me with this scenario every time I want to brew myself some nice cup of coffee in the morning and it just beats the hell out of me as to what could be causing the shenanigan. Could it be for entertainment? I want to be perked up in the morning, not entertained with some coffee maker tricks, much less get delayed from work just because I have to clean up the mess at the counter top that the coffee maker just made. It is like this every morning. I might as well just grab a cup from the coffee shop with those lost minutes cleaning.
