How to Save Your College Student Money on Vehicle Insurance

October 10th, 2011

College students and new drivers are extremely expensive to put onto a vehicle insurance policy, so many students do not drive and rely on public transportation. If you are a parent and want your college student to be able to drive without paying the huge price for insurance, then put them on your vehicle policy. As long as they have a good driving record it shouldn’t be too terrible to add them to your policy, especially if you have been with a company for a long time. The only requirement that you must fulfill is them living with you at least part of the time. Students are always an exception to the rule because their permanent residence is still with you instead of at college. The cost for adding your college student to your insurance policy will be a lot less expensive than if they were to get their own policy.
