Finding the Right Directions

I have been trying to find a good online site that teaches about bookbinding. A few of the ones I have been to, seem very complicated. I know someone out there must have simplified directions on their website, now I just need to find that site. I am not a crafty person by any means, but I think I could do tis project if it is broken down into easy steps. I am binding a book for my mother. She wrote it many years ago, but just kept it in a notebook. I would love to surprise her with a real cover and binding. It would be the best present she ever received.
